Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Apple, we receive the information you authorize Apple to share.

We also collect catch data you enter (species, weight, length, date, technique, notes), photos you capture or upload, and profile preferences.

With your permission, we collect GPS coordinates when logging catches and retrieve weather conditions from a third-party service. We may collect analytics and crash reporting data to diagnose technical issues.

If you opt in to our model improvement program, you may share fish photos and species labels to improve our identification model. This is entirely voluntary.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the App, enable catch logging and fish identification, process subscriptions, sync data for premium users, generate personalized fishing insights, and respond to support requests.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on your device and, when you are signed in to an account, synced to our cloud database (Supabase) so it is backed up and available across your devices. Data is protected with industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, encrypted at rest). A premium subscription unlocks additional analysis features; cloud storage applies to all account holders.

Fish identification runs entirely on-device using CoreML. Your photos are never sent to a server for identification.

We implement reasonable security measures but cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Third-Party Services

Apple (Sign in with Apple, StoreKit) for authentication and subscriptions. Supabase for account auth and cloud sync. Open-Meteo for weather data. We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share information only with your consent, with service providers under confidentiality obligations, when required by law, or in connection with a business transfer.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Location and camera access: manage via device Settings. Cloud sync: choose whether to enable. ML data contribution: opt in or out anytime. Account deletion: contact us for deletion within 30 days. Data export: export as CSV anytime from the App.

7. Children's Privacy

PBCatch is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the information promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last Updated" date and notify you through the App where appropriate. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
